Lot 104: An Assortment of Silver, Silver-plated, and Gold-plated Decorative Metalware and Flatware
This collection comprises an assortment of silver, silver-plated, and gold-plated items including a set of six forks, a footed bowl, a pin dish, a baby spoon, egg cups, and a miniature candlestick.
The set of six forks is in the Fiddle pattern with notched shoulders and engraved monogrammed terminals. The reverse of the handles is stamped with the marks S&F in an oval, L in a square, a six-pointed star symbol in a circle, A1 in a rectangle, and EP in an oval. These marks are attributed to the maker Sanders and Foster Ltd of Sheffield, indicating high-grade electroplated nickel silver.
The ornate footed bowl features repousse floral and foliate scroll decoration with a scalloped rim. A yellow foil label on the base is printed with the text Gold Plated 24 Carat Made in Italy.
The heart-shaped silver pin dish features a fluted rim and an engraved central floral design.
The silver baby spoon features a looped handle with an engraved monogram. Four stamped marks are present in individual shields on the reverse of the handle, but these are too worn to be clearly identified.
The lot is completed by two small egg cups and a miniature candlestick of gold-plated finish with no visible maker marks.
