Lot 107: A Pair of Edwardian Silver-Mounted Cut Glass Scent Bottles, Birmingham, 1901
A pair of Edwardian silver-mounted glass dressing table bottles. The first item is a tall cylindrical scent bottle of heavy lead glass featuring a deep diamond-cut pattern. It is fitted with a sterling silver repoussé cap decorated with ornate floral and scrollwork motifs. The second item is a smaller tapered vanity jar with vertical faceted fluting and a matching silver cap with similar floral decoration. Both silver mounts bear clear hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay Office, including the Lion Passant for sterling silver and the lowercase date letter b for 1901. The maker mark W.G is attributed to William Griffiths and Sons of Birmingham.
