Lot 133: Edwardian Hallmarked Sterling Silver-Mounted Cut-Glass Bowl by Sanders and Aquila, Birmingham, 1904
An Edwardian cut-glass bowl of circular form, featuring a sterling silver rim. The body of the lead glass bowl is hand-cut with a pattern of starbursts within circular medallions, alternating with sections of diamond-point hobnail cutting and serrated vertical lines. The base is plain with a polished central pontil area. The silver rim is struck with hallmarks for the makers Sanders and Aquila, the Birmingham assay office anchor, the lion passant for sterling silver purity, and the lowercase date letter e corresponding to the year 1904.
