Lot 141: Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Curb Link Albert Watch Chain with Swivel Fob and Medallions
This antique silver curb link Albert watch chain features various attachments and exhibits a naturally aged patina. The chain consists of heavy curb links, with each link individually stamped with the lion passant sterling silver standard mark. The assembly includes a hallmarked T-bar and swivel clasps. Attached to the chain are three distinct pendants: a double-sided swivel fob, a 1889 Queen Victoria silver crown coin, and an oval silver medal. The swivel fob is bezel-set with a green bloodstone cabochon on one side and an orange-red carnelian cabochon on the other, both framed by a decorative rope-twist border. The oval medal features a centrally inset yellow metal shield, with the reverse displaying a full set of Birmingham hallmarks including the maker mark WJP for William James Pellow, an anchor assay office mark, the lion passant standard mark, and a date letter u for circa 1894. Similar sterling hallmarks and date letters are visible on the T-bar and lobster claw clasps.
