Lot 145: An Assortment of British Sterling, Continental, and South American Silver and White Metal Spoons and Implements
This collection features a variety of antique and vintage silver and white metal items. Included is an Edwardian sterling silver salt spoon with a twisted stem and cast foliate terminal, bearing hallmarks for William Aitken, Birmingham, 1903. A late Georgian fiddle pattern spoon, monogrammed AC, shows hallmarks for William Pringle, Sheffield, 1837, including the monarch duty mark. The assortment also contains a Chilean souvenir spoon with a twisted stem and a terminal depicting the national coat of arms, marked S. Jimeno, 900, Chile. A Continental silver souvenir spoon features an openwork handle and a terminal shaped as a lidded tankard, stamped with 830 and the makers mark RZ AW. Completing the group is a white metal implement with a maple leaf-shaped terminal.
