Lot 171: Two antique sterling silver-mounted cut glass tabletop bottles including a John Grinsell and Sons shaker
Two antique sterling silver-mounted cut glass tabletop bottles, comprising a tapered shaker and a small globular bottle. The tapered shaker features hand-cut diamond and cross-hatch patterns on the lower body, transitioning into vertical flutes towards the neck. It is fitted with a pierced sterling silver shaker cap. The collar of the shaker bears four distinct stamped hallmarks, including the maker mark J.G and S for John Grinsell and Sons, a lion passant, an anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and the date letter t for 1918. The globular bottle features an all-over deep geometric strawberry-diamond and fan-cut pattern, fitted with a solid, domed silver cap. The cap is stamped with the maker initials C.J.F.
