Lot 3: Antique automatic pickup hitch latch
An antique automatic pickup hitch latch (commonly called a latch release mechanism or hitch lock lever) from the rear of a vintage tractor.
• The Bottom C-Channel Bracket: Slips tightly over or bolts onto the tractor’s main rear hitch framework or back plate.
• The Hook & Hinge Latch: When the tractor’s 3-point linkage drops down to pick up an implement (like a trailer or muck spreader drawbar), this spring-loaded hook snaps shut to safely lock the hook/towbar in the raised, carrying position.
• The Long Lever Arm: Extends forward toward the driver’s seat. The operator pulls or pushes this rod to manually retract the hook, releasing the latch so the hitch can drop down and unhook the trailer.
