Lot 187: A Large Victorian Style Decorative Iron Birdcage on Integrated Stand
A floor-standing decorative birdcage in the Victorian style, constructed from a combination of wrought and cast iron. The cylindrical cage features a domed top surmounted by a turned metal finial. The main body is composed of vertical iron bars with a wide central decorative band of cast foliate and vine scrollwork. The interior contains a central hanging chain and a decorative heart-shaped wire support with an integral circular ring, suitable for a feeder bowl or small pot. The cage is supported by an integrated three-legged stand joined by a circular stretcher base. The item bears paper auction labels for HCP Auctions South West (Lot 187) and a secondary label marked 13.
