Lot 289: A Group of Four Vintage Folding Beach and Garden Chairs
This group of four vintage folding chairs consists of various designs intended for beach or garden use, dating from the mid-to-late 20th century. The collection features tubular metal frames, likely composed of aluminium or steel, with folding mechanisms held by rivets. Two examples are fitted with shaped wooden armrests, while the others possess white or off-white plastic armrests. The upholstery displays a range of mid-century patterns and materials: one with a retro floral design in pink, orange, and green; one with wide green and white vertical stripes; one with thin horizontal stripes in red, yellow, and pink; and one with a plain grey synthetic mesh seat. Some chairs employ a spring-tensioned system for fabric support. A blue fabric label on the floral-patterned chair is partially legible and records a 43% cotton content.
