Lot 429: Two Ceramic Lots comprising a Matte-Glazed Pitcher and Basin Set and a Hand-Painted Floral Jug
A matching earthenware wash pitcher and basin set, both featuring moulded vertical ribbing. The pitcher has a bulbous body, a wide pouring lip, and a simple loop handle. The basin has a wide, flared rim with matching internal ribbing. Both components are finished in a uniform matte peach-coloured glaze. No maker’s marks are visible. A small adhesive label numbered 754 is present on the body of the pitcher.
A large decorative earthenware jug of bulbous form, featuring a scalloped, foliate-moulded rim and an ornate scrolling handle. The body is detailed with vertical moulded rope-twist borders and is hand-painted to the front with a floral spray depicting Lily of the Valley and stylized leaves in shades of green, ochre, and brown. The rim and handle show traces of original gilt highlights. No factory marks are visible. Item includes a Liskeard Auction Rooms lot label for Lot 429.
