Lot 641: A Trio of Decorative Items Comprising a Glass Vessel, a Hooked Wool Tapestry, and a Blue and White Ceramic Platter
This trio of decorative items consists of a glass vessel, a hooked wool tapestry, and a blue and white ceramic platter. The rectangular hooked wool tapestry features stylised figurative motifs in olive green, terracotta, and brown on a cream ground, finished with a brown yarn fringe. This textile is stylistically consistent with mid-20th-century Polish hand-woven wool kilims. The large glass vessel is of rounded form with twin loop handles applied to the neck and contains a small, white mineral specimen. The third item is an oval earthenware platter with a scalloped rim, featuring a blue and white transfer-printed landscape scene characteristic of 19th-century English manufacture. No maker’s marks are visible on the surfaces. Auction labels are present, including handwritten stickers marked 1080 and a printed lot sticker 643.
