Lot 672: A Collection of Price Brothers and Price & Kensington Ye Olde Cottage Ware Ceramics
A collection of mid-20th-century relief-moulded earthenware ceramics produced by Price Brothers and Price & Kensington in Longport, Staffordshire. The group is decorated in the popular Ye Olde Cottage pattern, featuring hand-painted underglaze colours in shades of straw-yellow, earthy brown, and green. The collection includes a large biscuit barrel modelled as a two-storey thatched cottage with a woven cane swing handle, a teapot with a branch-style handle and spout, a milk jug, and several lidded sugar or preserve pots of varying architectural forms. Also included is a honey pot modelled as a traditional straw beehive or skep, decorated with relief-moulded bees and featuring a lid with a slot for a honey dipper. Visible markings include green printed backstamps for Price Bros Made in England and Price Kensington.
