Lot 762: A Neoclassical Style Painted Storage Coffee Table with Laurel Wreath Motif
A Neoclassical-style storage chest of rectangular form, designed for use as a coffee table or blanket box. The piece is constructed from a composite material or wood with a cream-coloured painted finish. The front panel displays a central relief-carved laurel wreath motif, flanked by corner supports modelled as fluted pilasters with scrolled capitals. The unit sits upon a stepped and moulded plinth base. The lid is secured with a continuous piano hinge and includes two metal lid-stay supports to the interior. A safety warning label is present on the underside of the lid reading Please take care when closing lid slowly to avoid injury. Two circular white pads are visible on the top corners of the main body.
