Lot 772: A Set of Four Mid-20th Century Stained Hardwood Dining Chairs
A set of four dining chairs featuring a blend of traditional and mid-century design elements. Each chair possesses a deep-curved, steam-bent hardwood top rail over a decorative back consisting of three vertical splats. The splats are intricately pierced with circular and scrollwork motifs, reminiscent of Arts and Crafts or Art Nouveau styles. The chairs feature circular seat pads upholstered in a light blue-grey textured fabric. The frames are raised on four round-section, tapered legs, with the rear legs slightly splayed. The construction is typical of British mass-production furniture from the mid-20th century. One chair bears a modern auction lot label numbered 772.
