Lot 807: Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine in Oak Cabinet
An antique Singer treadle sewing machine, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The sewing machine head is constructed from cast iron with a black enamelled finish, featuring gold-toned decorative decals and the Singer manufacturer name clearly displayed on the arm. The machine is housed within an oak cabinet featuring a drop-head mechanism and five drawers fitted with wooden pull handles. The cabinet is supported by an ornate cast iron treadle base featuring a lattice-work footplate and integrated flywheel. A manual crank handle is present on the side of the cabinet surface.
