Lot 884: An early 20th century Arts & Crafts style stained hardwood reclining Morris chair
An early 20th century reclining armchair in the Arts & Crafts style, following the design of a Morris chair. The frame is constructed from stained hardwood and features wide, flat armrests with rounded terminals, slatted sides, and a five-slat backrest. The reclining function is controlled by a wooden bar that adjusts into notches located at the rear of the arms. The chair is accompanied by a set of removable seat and back cushions upholstered in a woven tapestry-style fabric, decorated with a sage green ground and cream foliate patterns with striped borders. A white auction lot sticker numbered 884 is attached to the side of the backrest.
