Lot 906: A Victorian Rococo Revival Style Carved Hardwood Armchair
An armchair in the Victorian Rococo Revival style, reflecting designs common to the French Louis Philippe period. The frame is crafted from a dark-stained hardwood, featuring a curved and carved crest rail and scrollwork to the shoulders and arm supports. The piece is upholstered in a pale gold velvet fabric, with the backrest featuring deep-buttoning. It includes matching upholstered arm pads and is finished with a braided gimp trim along the edges. The chair is raised on cabriole-style legs. There is a white rectangular auction lot tag attached to the left side of the backrest printed with the number 906.
