Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £30

Estimated price: £30 - £50

Buyer's Premium:

A late 19th or early 20th-century high-back Windsor armchair, in a style similar to a Captains or Smokers bow variant. The chair is constructed with a solid, thick-section saddle-shaped seat, showing the prominent, wavy grain characteristic of elm. It features a wide, shaped top rail supported by six vertical spindles. The S-curved arms terminate in scrolled grips and are supported by turned baluster uprights. The chair is raised on four turned legs. Construction involves traditional mortise and tenon joinery, with the spindles and leg tenons passing through the seat. A small white auction lot label with the number 911 is affixed to the back rail. No other maker marks or stamps are visible.
