Lot 962: Rogers D, Rugged Mountainous Landscape, Oil on Board
This landscape painting, executed in oil on board, is signed ROGERS D in dark block capitals in the lower right corner. The composition depicts a rugged valley scene with a central path winding from the foreground towards a range of distant blue peaks under a clouded sky. The artist has used a traditional, impressionistic style with broad brushwork and visible impasto texture, particularly in the dark hillsides and foreground vegetation. The artwork is housed in a gilt-effect frame with a cream-coloured linen slip. A lot tag numbered 962 is attached to the top right of the frame.
