Lot 17: A Collection of Ten Vintage Costume Jewellery Brooches
A collection of ten vintage costume jewellery brooches featuring various motifs and designs. The group includes a silver-tone waterfall brooch with a large faceted oval dark amber-coloured glass stone set in a claw setting, surrounded by a halo of clear rhinestones and finished with five graduated pendant chains of clear round-cut rhinestones. An oval cameo brooch depicts a profile in white molded relief on a tan ground, set within a gold-tone metal frame with a decorative filigree border. A circular gold-tone brooch displays an openwork textured pattern set with multiple round orange coral-coloured cabochons of varying sizes. The lot further contains a gold-tone spray brooch with a brushed finish and a row of small blue rhinestones, and a stylized butterfly brooch in gold-tone metal with openwork wings and a polished silver-tone body. Also present are a circular wreath-motif brooch set with small faux pearls and amber-coloured round-cut rhinestones; a six-petaled flower brooch in silver-tone metal pavé-set with clear round-cut rhinestones; a silver-tone leaf-form brooch set with clear round-cut rhinestones; a three-dimensional rose brooch on a stem with textured leaves in gold-tone metal; and a tiered oval cluster brooch set with clear and light purple round-cut rhinestones. All brooches are constructed from base metals with silver-tone or gold-tone finishes. The pieces are fitted with standard pin and safety catch mechanisms. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible.
