Lot 77: Two Vintage Decorative Miniature Metal Cannons
This lot comprises two miniature decorative ornamental cannons of differing styles and materials. The first is a field-style cannon constructed from cast brass with a polished finish. It features a tiered, smooth-bore barrel mounted on a three-wheeled carriage, comprising two large spoked wheels at the front and a smaller single wheel at the rear of the trail. The second is an ornate white metal cannon, likely pewter or silver-plated base metal, featuring embossed foliate and scrollwork motifs on the barrel and carriage. The carriage is a two-wheeled design with a long, curved trail featuring a pierced terminal. The wheels are decorated with geometric patterns around the rims. No maker’s marks, hallmarks, or inscriptions were identified on either item.
