Lot 83: An Assortment of Vintage and Contemporary Costume Jewellery Brooches
An assortment of vintage and contemporary costume jewellery brooches featuring a variety of motifs. The group includes floral and foliate designs such as a silver-toned spray with blue and pink enamel blossoms and a rhinestone-set bow, a gold-toned rose with a textured matte finish and rhinestone-accented leaves, a maple leaf pavé-set with clear rhinestones, and a smaller two-blossom floral spray with a red rhinestone centre. Figurative pieces comprise a textured teddy bear with green rhinestone eyes, a small tortoise with a patterned shell, and a pair of leaping dolphins set on a wave-like band with clear rhinestones. Abstract and decorative designs include an Art Deco style oval brooch with maroon and ochre swirling enamel, an oval silver-toned brooch with a black cabochon in a scalloped gallery, a large polished gold-toned modernist squiggle form, and a satin-finish stylised curved shape. The collection also contains two bar brooches: one geometric rose-gold-toned design and one wavy bar featuring a diagonal line of clear rhinestones. Pin mechanisms include C-clasps and safety catches. Visible markings are present on the side of the geometric bar brooch but are illegible due to wear.
