Lot 16: Tilley X246 Pork Pie Pressure Paraffin Lantern
A vintage Tilley pressurised paraffin lantern, specifically the early X246 model featuring the distinctive bulbous brass fuel tank commonly referred to as the Pork Pie design. The unit comprises a heavy brass base with an integrated hand pump and control valve. A central riser supports a clear cylindrical glass globe, which is enclosed within a vertical steel wire cage frame. The lantern is finished with a tiered brown porcelain enamel hood at the top. The base of the tank is incised with the maker mark TILLEY- ENGLAND. This item is a pressurised fuel lamp and has not been electrified. Height: Approximately 34-36cm.
