Lot 274: A Set of Vintage Chinese Export Porcelain Coffee Service
A set of Chinese export porcelain coffee service items, including a tall tapering lidded coffee pot, a lidded sugar bowl, and several small handled cups. The service is manufactured from white porcelain with a glossy glaze. Each piece is decorated with a wide transfer-printed band featuring a central quatrefoil medallion in ochre and brown, flanked by rectangular panels containing black and white foliate scrollwork. The cups are finished with a fine gilded line to the upper rims. The base of the items features a circular blue backstamp with the English text MADE IN CHINA and corresponding Chinese characters reading Zhongguo Zhizao.
