Lot 279: A Collection of Vintage Engineering Reference Books Including The Complete Engineer and The Engineering Educator
This lot consists of a collection of early to mid-20th-century technical and engineering reference books. The primary grouping is a series titled The Complete Engineer, published by Newnes (George Newnes Ltd, London). This set includes volumes covering Workshop Processes (Volume I), Production (Volume II), Installation Work (Volume III), and Operation and Maintenance (Volume IV). These volumes are bound in green cloth with gilt-stamped lettering on the spines. Also present is Volume III of The Engineering Educator, edited by W. J. Kearton and published by Pitman (Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons, Ltd), bound in navy blue cloth with gilt-stamped decorative bands and lettering. The assortment further includes a smaller red hardcover volume with partial spine text reading Engineer’s Book and an unidentified plain dark blue cloth-bound hardcover volume.
