Lot 411: A Collection of Vintage Empire Porcelain Co. Tableware and Assorted Decorative Mugs
This collection comprises a variety of vintage English earthenware and contemporary decorative ceramics. The primary pieces are produced by the Empire Porcelain Co. Ltd. of Stoke-on-Trent and include a rectangular earthenware tray featuring a transfer-printed landscape scene of a thatched cottage surrounded by spring blossoms and garden flowers, finished with a scalloped and gilded rim. Also included is a small circular dish with a scalloped, gilded edge, decorated with a transfer-printed scene of a lady in a nineteenth-century style blue dress. The reverse of this dish displays a green transfer-printed mark for Empire England featuring a crown and rose motif, accompanied by the code B52, an incised number 230, and a small hand-painted mark in reddish-brown. The assortment also contains several modern mugs and tea items, featuring a teacup and saucer set with a yellow sunflower pattern, a group of mugs decorated with black cat silhouettes, a white mug with black polka dots, and a tall mug with an elaborate cat and floral scroll design. The lot is completed by a small wooden toy structure, a plastic container of assorted toy figures, and an electronic power adapter with cable.
