Lot 495: P. Ammon, A Pair of Mixed Media Horological Assemblages Depicting a 1950 Manx Norton and a 1957 Lambretta LD150 (Signed)
A pair of mixed media assemblage artworks by P. Ammon, featuring vehicle silhouettes constructed from deconstructed watch and clock components. The collection consists of two framed pieces: one depicting a 1950 Manx Norton motorcycle and the other a 1957 Lambretta LD150 motor scooter. Each silhouette is intricately composed of assorted metal parts, including brass and steel gears, hairsprings, plates, and wheels, mounted onto black oval backgrounds. The Lambretta piece incorporates a small white watch dial with Roman numerals to represent the front wheel and bears the signature P. Ammon in gold script to the lower right. The Manx Norton piece is inscribed with the model name and features a circular watch dial with Arabic numerals. Both artworks are set within dark green mounts and housed in gold-finished frames under glass. This type of horological collage work is stylistically similar to pieces produced by Ken Broadbent.
