An Edwardian oak cutlery canteen of rectangular form, featuring brass-capped corners and a central shield-shaped silver presentation plaque. The plaque is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1906, with a lion passant and date letter g; it bears the engraved inscription: PRESENTED TO William A. Cranch BY THE MEMBERS OF THE LIVERPOOL WHOLESALE FRUIT AND POTATO MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION. February 1906. The interior is lined with blue velvet and contains a removable lift-out tray, with compartments specifically fitted and labelled for various flatware including Table Forks, Dessert Knives, Tea Spoons, Gravy Spoon, Table Spoons, Dessert Forks, and Egg Spoons.
