Lot 686: A Mid-century Modern Sewing Cabinet and a Collection of Vintage Sewing Notions
A mid-century modern wooden sewing cabinet, raised on four tapered legs and featuring a warm-toned wood veneer finish. The piece is designed with a hinged top lid upholstered in tan vinyl, which opens to reveal an internal storage compartment. Beneath the compartment is a single full-width drawer fitted with a central turned wooden pull knob. The cabinet contains a collection of vintage sewing notions, notably including a boxed pair of Wilkinson pinking scissors by manufacturers William Whiteley and Sons Ltd of Sheffield. Other items in the lot include multiple spools of coloured thread, a needle pack, a hand-held staple gun, and various tailoring tools. No maker label is present on the furniture.
