Lot 713: William IV Flame Mahogany Pedestal Desk and Matching Stool
A flame mahogany pedestal desk and matching stool from the William IV period. The desk features a shaped rectangular top with a decorative back gallery featuring carved scrolled leaves and a centred scallop shell motif. The top and pedestal fronts are finished with figured flame mahogany veneers. The pedestals flank a central kneehole and are embellished with carved gadrooned borders. The desk is supported by short, turned bun feet. The accompanying stool is rectangular with a brown upholstered seat finished with brass-headed tacks, supported by four short turned mahogany legs.
