Lot 751: A Late Victorian Jacobean Revival Carved Oak Chest of Drawers
A late 19th century / early 20th century oak chest of drawers in the Jacobean revival fashion. The piece features a rectangular top over a configuration of two short drawers and two long drawers. The top drawer fronts are decorated with deep-relief carved lunette patterns, while the two lower full-width drawers feature central carved lozenge motifs with internal floral bosses. The drawers are fitted with turned wooden knobs. The chest is constructed from oak and sits on short, square-section legs. The drawer fronts show relief carving consistent with machine-assisted hand-finishing typical of the period.
