Lot 767: George III Style Mahogany Serpentine Chest of Drawers
A George III style serpentine-fronted chest of drawers manufactured in the late 19th or early 20th century. The chest is constructed with a mahogany carcass and figured flame mahogany veneers to the drawer fronts. The design features four long graduated drawers with cockbeaded edges, supported by four shaped bracket feet. The drawers are fitted with brass bail handles mounted on decorative batwing shaped backplates and central shaped brass escutcheons. Secondary woods and internal drawer construction, including dovetailing, are not visible in the provided photographs.
