Lot 776: A Contemporary Indian Sheesham Hardwood Jali Two Door Low Cupboard
A contemporary two-door low cupboard or small sideboard, constructed from variegated sheesham (Indian rosewood) hardwood. The piece features a pair of doors, each incorporating a panel of wrought iron lattice work, known as Jali, alongside a solid raised-and-fielded wooden panel. The unit is fitted with iron ring-pull handles and external iron hinges, secured at the top by a wooden turn-buckle latch. It is designed with a rectangular overhanging top and sits upon a plain plinth base. There are no maker’s marks visible. A white adhesive lot sticker marked L776 is present on the top left edge. Several ceramic plates, including one marked with the number 13, are positioned adjacent to the unit but do not form part of this lot.
