Lot 815: A 19th Century Mahogany Basin Stand
A 19th-century mahogany washstand or basin stand. The rectangular top features a central circular aperture designed to hold a ceramic wash basin, bordered by a three-sided splashback gallery with shaped, scrolling side profiles. The structure is supported by four square-section legs featuring ring-turned detailing above the feet, which are joined by a lower platform shelf. The piece is constructed from mahogany with a dark-stained finish. Several labels are present, including a white adhesive label handwritten with 16554 and a printed label for HCP Auctions South West, Lot 815. A green and white label depicting a glass symbol and the word RESISTANT is visible through the central cutout.
