Lot 837: An Edwardian Georgian Revival Oak Twin Pedestal Writing Desk with Inset Leather Top
A twin-pedestal writing desk constructed from quarter-sawn oak, designed in the Georgian revival style. The rectangular top features an inset red leather writing surface with a gilt-tooled border. The desk configuration consists of a central frieze drawer flanked by two pedestals. The right-hand pedestal contains three graduated drawers, while the left-hand pedestal features a single top drawer above a deeper double-fronted drawer. The drawers are fitted with cast brass-tone drop handles mounted on oval backplates with embossed foliate and scrollwork decoration. The desk is supported on square-section legs. The drawer interiors exhibit standard wooden construction.
