Lot 872: An Edwardian Sheraton Revival marquetry inlaid mahogany display cabinet top section
An Edwardian mahogany display cabinet in the Sheraton Revival style, designed as the upper section of a larger furniture piece. The cabinet features a single door with asymmetrical decorative glazing. The left-hand portion of the door is divided into three sections, with two rectangular glass panels flanking a central mahogany panel. This central panel is decorated with a fine marquetry inlay depicting a classical urn with scrolling handles. The right-hand portion of the door is fitted with a single large rectangular glass pane. The carcass is accented with decorative scrolled side brackets and a moulded cornice. The interior is fitted with two wooden shelves. Visible hardware includes small brass hinges and a metal keyhole escutcheon. A handwritten paper tag is visible inside, reading Edwardian Cabinet and Reserve £285.
