Lot 939: Antique Persian Baluch Tribal Kilim Rug
A handmade antique tribal kilim rug of Persian Baluch origin. This flat-weave rug is constructed from hand-spun wool on a wool warp. The design consists of horizontal bands containing geometric motifs, including stylized S-shaped hooks, star forms, and animal representations. The colour palette is rendered in natural dyes, primarily rust red, indigo blue, dark brown, and cream. The coarse weave and traditional decorative elements are characteristic of nomadic or village production from the border regions of Persia and Afghanistan.
