Lot 942: Late Victorian Renaissance Revival Carved Mahogany Side Cabinet
A large mahogany side cabinet designed in the Renaissance Revival style, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The piece is constructed with a vertical bank of four drawers to the right-hand side, each fitted with brass swan-neck handles. The central section features a large compartment with a fall-front door that opens to reveal a tiered interior. The exterior surfaces are heavily ornamented with deeply carved relief panels depicting foliate scrolls and central masks, framed by moulded borders and separated by pilaster-style dividers. The cabinet is constructed from solid hardwood with a dark-toned finish. A small white rectangular sticker bearing the printed number 942 is located on the top left edge. No other maker marks or labels are visible.
