Lot 949: A Collection of Framed Artworks and a Gilt Frame
An assortment of decorative framed artworks and one empty frame, primarily featuring traditional subjects. The group includes an oil painting on board or canvas depicting a rural English landscape with a prominent church spire and red-brick buildings reflected in water, presented in a gilt frame with a linen-lined inner slip. Also included are a large landscape print of a mountainous scene with a solitary tree, a still life print of a white ceramic pitcher with fruit, and a smaller figurative work showing a vintage red car in a wooded environment. A further piece depicts a dove carrying an olive branch against a radiant sunburst, executed on a shimmering metallic or silk substrate. The collection is completed by a large, empty decorative gilt frame with a plain backing board. Several frames and the associated furniture in the background bear lot stickers for HCP Auctions Ltd, including lot number 979.
