These components are constructed from a weathered hardwood, exhibiting the characteristic grain of ash or elm, materials traditionally favoured for English agricultural tool construction. The rails are hand-shaped with tapered sections and feature a distinctive notch at one end for structural joining. The timber displays a deep, aged patination consistent with long-term exposure. Visible markings include a white adhesive label with the handwritten number 5677 in green ink and a small auction lot sticker for HCP Auctions South West, Lot 067.
