Lot 199: A Pair of Reconstituted Stone Scalloped Shell Form Garden Birdbaths
A pair of reconstituted stone garden ornaments of classical form. Each piece comprises a wide, shallow basin with a decoratively scalloped rim resembling a large shell. These basins are supported by fluted baluster-style pedestals resting on octagonal bases. A central drainage hole is present in both bowls, with one hole currently occupied by a hemispherical stone plug. The construction is of cast stone with a characteristic pitted surface texture. Several temporary adhesive labels are present on the interior surfaces, including hand-written stock numbers and prices.
Estimated height: 50cm – 60cm.
