Lot 218: A Pair of Victorian Style Cast Iron Garden Bench Ends
A pair of heavy cast iron garden bench ends produced in a Victorian decorative style. Each piece features ornate relief decoration comprising foliate and scrollwork motifs throughout the frame. The design is characterised by a high-arched backrest terminating in a scroll finial and a central decorative pierced element with a stylised four-lobed motif. The frames include integral mounting points for wooden seat and back slats, several of which retain original rusted iron bolts. The construction is solid cast iron with a weathered green painted finish. No maker marks or registry diamonds are visible on the castings.
