Lot 279: A Collection of Garden Statuary Including a Large Ribbed Urn and Cast Stone Gargoyles
A lot comprising a large terracotta-style urn, a pair of cast stone gargoyle statues, a cast stone gnome statue, and a moss-covered stone garden fragment. The large urn is constructed from a terracotta-coloured ceramic or composite material and features distinctive horizontal ribbing to the body. It bears a white auction label for HCP Auctions South West, Lot 279, and a green label numbered 5766. The pair of cast stone gargoyles are depicted in different poses, one upright and one curled. The cast stone gnome and the gargoyles exhibit a heavy aged patina with significant lichen growth. The moss-covered stone fragment includes an embedded, heavily rusted iron support rod.
