Lot 462: New Home Model 532 Electric Sewing Machine by Janome
A mid-20th-century portable electric sewing machine manufactured by Janome Sewing Machine Co. Ltd in Japan for the New Home Sewing Machine Company. The machine is a Model 532, constructed with a cast metal body in a two-tone grey colour scheme and mounted on a wooden plywood base. It features manual controls for stitch width and length, a front-mounted tension dial, and a toggle switch for darning and sewing functions. The machine is accompanied by its original white plastic foot pedal controller, power cord, and the original printed instruction manual. The unit is contained within its original portable carrying case, which has a lid covered in blue and cream vinyl with a white plastic handle and metal latches.
