A vintage Sanyo AC/DC Portable Deluxe black and white cathode ray tube (CRT) television, manufactured in Japan during the 1970s. The unit features a two-tone plastic casing consisting of a black front bezel and a cream-coloured body. The top-mounted control panel houses a rotary tuning dial for VHF channels, marked with numbers 2 through 30. The front bezel is clearly marked SANYO and AC/DC PORTABLE DELUXE. The tuning plate includes the text MADE IN JAPAN. The television is a solid-state unit, indicated by the absence of visible internal tubes. The casing is currently adorned with several non-original novelty stickers featuring quotes from Marvin the Paranoid Android, such as I THINK YOU OUGHT TO KNOW… I’M FEELING VERY DEPRESSED and …WHY STOP NOW, JUST WHEN I’M HATING IT?. A white power cord is present and remains wrapped around the unit. A small white identification tag marked 497 is attached to the side.
