Lot 577: Charles Owen Young Rider's Skull Equestrian Riding Helmet
A Charles Owen Young Rider’s Skull equestrian riding helmet, manufactured by Charles Owen & Co. (Bow) Ltd. in Wrexham. This jockey skull style helmet is designed without a fixed peak and features a black textured outer shell. The interior is fitted with a padded orange and yellow label which bears the manufacturer’s name and notes their appointment to Her Majesty the Queen. A circular white sticker indicates the size as 2 1/2 (58cm). The label also displays the CE mark and references safety standards PAS015 and BSEN1384:1996. The helmet is fitted with a black nylon adjustable harness and a plastic quick-release buckle. Given the older safety certifications, this item is offered as a collectible or for display purposes and may not meet current regulatory standards for active competitive use.
