Lot 579: Five Pieces of Victorian and Edwardian Style Utilitarian Stoneware Kitchenalia
An assortment of five utilitarian stoneware items comprising a large two-handled lidded crock, two cylindrical storage jars, and two hot water bottles. The large crock features a reddish-brown iron-wash glaze to the lid and upper portion of the vessel, with an unglazed buff-coloured body. The lid is fitted with a composite bung-style knob. The two cylindrical jars are salt-glazed with iron-wash glazed rims. The two hot water bottles are finished in a cream-coloured glaze, one retaining a black composite screw cap and the other a ceramic screw cap. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible. The lot includes auction labels from HCP Auctions South West.
