Lot 623: A Collection of Vintage Games and Playing Cards Including John Waddington Ltd Bezique Sets
A varied collection of vintage games, playing cards, and associated accessories, featuring items by John Waddington Ltd of Leeds and London. The lot includes two boxed Bezique sets. The first is housed in a tan-coloured textured card case containing two decks of playing cards with mountain landscape reverse designs, a rules card fixed to the interior lid, and a Waddington marker with brass pins. The second set is presented in a red and gold card box and contains two decks with rural cottage scene reverses and a matching scoring marker. The collection also includes an orange and clear plastic Las Vegas pocket game with a spring-loaded dice mechanism, and a wooden-framed noughts and crosses game containing metal ball bearings. Ephemera includes a heavily worn handwritten score pad with various entries including names and dates from 1929. An accompanying plastic storage bin contains an assortment of loose and boxed playing cards including Ireland playing cards, a blue Stapleway box marked for BB machines, a waterproof surfaces box lid, multiple standard six-sided dice, red and cream composition balls, and printed game instructions.
