Lot 629: An Assortment of Vintage British Ceramic Tableware Including Alfred Meakin, Myott and S. Hancock and Sons
An assortment of vintage British ceramic tableware including pieces by Alfred Meakin, Myott, and S. Hancock and Sons. The collection features an Alfred Meakin porcelain bowl with a scalloped edge and cream-coloured ground, decorated with polychrome floral sprays and a thin gilt rim. Also included is an S. Hancock and Sons Coronaware serving dish with a wide rim displaying a multi-banded floral and geometric border. A J&G Meakin Sunshine pattern oval platter features a deep maroon border with ornate gilt scrolling foliate decoration. A large antique oval platter is decorated with a transfer-printed autumnal floral pattern in shades of orange, red, and brown. The group is completed by three Myott Staffordshire dinner plates in the Olde Chelsea pattern, each with a fluted rim and orange and yellow floral sprays. Decoration throughout the collection includes transfer printing and gilding.
