Lot 671: A Collection of Art Glass Paperweights
A collection of decorative glass paperweights featuring various forms and glass-working techniques. The assortment includes a globular clear glass paperweight with a deep blue controlled bubble core, known as the bullicante technique. Also included is a large teardrop-shaped paperweight with a clear exterior and a cased interior of emerald green and cobalt blue, forming a central funnel-shaped motif with a large air bubble at the apex. The group further comprises an ovoid egg-shaped paperweight decorated with an external spiral of red and yellow glass canes in a lattice or latticino style, and a globular paperweight containing a central mass of swirled amethyst purple and white glass. Completing the collection is a clear glass globular paperweight containing a central white multi-petalled flower with an air bubble at the centre, accompanied by two lampwork insects, one in yellow and one in orange, both with contrasting spots. One piece retains a white paper auction label from HCP Auctions South West.
